The Most Essential Human Need

The first project undertaken by My Vision for Refugees was the boring and construction of a fresh-water well for the former refugees still living in the camp, now turned into villages, near N’zerekore. Until this well was built, their only source of water for drinking, bathing, cooking, and doing laundry had been the nearby river, which resulted in a continuous scourge of parasitic diseases and many preventable deaths, especially among young children. At this point, we have built two wells, and plans are underway to construct more throughout the sprawling villages, in order to give closer access to clean, potable water, the most basic of human needs.
