Sam’s Trip to USA

Our founder, Samuel Johnson, has returned safely home to Guinea after a meaningful and action-packed visit to the U.S. this past spring! We are so thankful for the incredible support and encouragement shown to Samuel and My Vision for Refugees throughout his travels. During his stay, Samuel served as a keynote speaker at Mercer University’s Conference on Refugees and Immigrants, met with Mercer’s French faculty and the Christian Faculty Fellowship, and spoke at several churches in Macon, Forsyth, Atlanta, and Clinton, SC. He also shared his story with students at Presbyterian College, visited two Rotary Clubs, and reconnected with many friends and supporters both in person and online. The trip was a tremendous success for the growth and sustainability of our mission. Thanks to many generous partners, we received hundreds of donated school uniforms from The Uniform Project in Atlanta; sent five 55-gallon barrels filled with clothing, toiletries, medicine, and water filters that have safely arrived at Home of Hope; secured a commitment from a Forsyth church to fund two new bore wells; completed funding for passports for our eight oldest children; launched fundraising for a new bus to safely transport our growing family; and celebrated that Marie, one of our newest children, now has a full sponsor! We are deeply grateful to everyone who welcomed Samuel and continues to believe in our vision — your generosity makes it possible for us to care for our children, serve our community, and bring lasting hope to N’Zérékoré and beyond.
